Celebrating Veterans Day 2018
On this Veterans Day, Mac Papers is pleased to honor and thank all members of the United States Armed Forces for their service to our country and the sacrifices made by them and their families to protect our freedom. We’re extremely proud of those at Mac Papers who have served and offer this “honor roll” of some of our company veterans. We salute each of you for your dedicated service and thank you for being a member of the Mac Papers team.
Air Force
Army
Jason Hudek, who recently joined Mac Papers as a packaging service technician at our Charlotte branch, enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and served tours with the Second Infantry Division in South Korea, as well as the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, NC. Jason completed his service as a member of the North Carolina National Guard.
John Harris, an account manager with our Greensboro branch, is a 30-year veteran in the U.S. Army Reserve and recently retired as a Brigade Commander after serving multiple deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan and Washington, DC, during his distinguished military career. John has been with Mac Papers for 24 years.
Leland Moseley, warehouse manager at our Raleigh branch, served in the U.S. Army for nearly 10 years, including duty in Operation Desert Storm. Leland has been with Mac Papers since 1996.
Ken Olson, an inside sales representative at our New Orleans branch, served in the Louisiana Army National Guard, 159th Combat Support Hospital from 1969-1975, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Ken joined Mac Papers in 2004.
Jon Davis, has been with Mac Papers for 23 years and is currently a truck driver at our Nashville branch. Jon served four years the U.S. Army, and was based in Germany for a portion of his tour.
Dionne Kincy, who has been a truck driver at our Tallahassee branch since 2015, served for 19 years in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Dionne served during the Iraq War and has performed hurricane disaster relief duties across the country.
Albert Stephens, warehouse manager for our Tallahassee branch, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1979 and attained the rank of SPC 4. Albert was stationed in Georgia, Colorado and Germany. Albert has been with Mac Papers since 1986.
Tom Kakara, a truck driver for our Nashville branch since 2017, had six years of military service – three years in the U.S. Army and three in the Florida National Guard. Tom attained the rank of SPC 4.
Alexander Solomon, who has been a truck driver at our Tampa branch, served three years in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of SPC 4. After finishing basic training, Alexander spent his entire tour in Germany as part of an artillery battalion. Alexander joined Mac Papers in 1987.
Marines
Ken Curtis, a truck driver at our Charlotte branch, served as a member of the U.S. Marine Band for three years, bringing joy and entertainment to our troops and the public. He has been with Mac Papers since 2008.
Michael James “M.J.” Saurondon, a programmer at our headquarters in Jacksonville, served for 16 years and attained the rank of Captain. M.J. spent eight years in the Marine Corp and eight years in the Florida National Guard and joined Mac Papers in 2017.
James Potter joined Mac Papers as a warehouse supervisor in Nashville branch earlier this year. James achieved the rank of Corporal during his 5 years in the U.S. Marines, serving tours in Panama, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Japan and Germany.
Ronnie Singleton, warehouse manager at our New Orleans branch, achieved the rank of Corporal during his four years in the Marines. Ronnie was stationed at Camp Pendleton with the 1st Battalion 7th Marines and did tours in Hong Kong, Korea, Philippines and Okinawa. Ronnie has been with Mac Papers for 11 years.
Navy
Brian Powers, a packaging specialist in our Tallahassee branch, served six years in the U.S. Navy as an Electricians First Mate – 1st Class. Brian ran the electrician shops on eight ships, including two while at sea. Brian joined Mac Papers in 2016.
Jeffrey Illner, a graphics specialist at our Charlotte branch, proudly served as a member of the U.S. Navy as a search and rescue swimmer in Jacksonville and aboard the USS Thorn DD988. Jeffry has been with Mac Papers for almost three years.
